Of all the shelves I've seen on ST's and BMW's and even a few Concours, this unit is superior. It is made of 16 gauge, cold rolled steel, not 20 or 22 gauge material. It is laser cut for dimensional precision and burr-free edges. The area under the upper surface is clear of stiffening ribs that can interfere with component mounting. It is 5.2" front to back and 18" wide (at widest point). The front "panel" on either side is 1.95" high x 4" wide, has plenty of room for outlets, switches, indicator lights, etc. This turned-down, "panel" area as well as a 5/16", turned-down lip along the front edge (behind the windshield), give added stiffness to the shelf. There is plenty of "real estate" for your GPS radar detector, or Delphi, XM radio antenna. It is finished in beautiful, satin black, powder coat, for lifetime good looks. It fits ALL years of the Concours having the Factory or Rifle windshields.
